Welcome to Week Four
Exercise can be a complete drag for some, while others have found a way to love it. How’s that?
This week is all about finding ways to get your body movin’ and groovin’. I’ve included different types of exercises for you to choose from to fit your unique lifestyle, needs, and desires.

I say the word “desire” because exercising needs to be fun. It needs to fit your lifestyle or it just simply won’t happen.
I like to switch it up. You will find me rebounding, riding horses, kayaking, hiking, and swimming. Sometimes just going outside and walking in sunshine can be really fun with my dogs! You can even jump rope with a kiddo or get a DVD to workout inside the comfort of your home. (This is especially great for cold weather or rainy days!)
Don’t be afraid to be playful. Your adult self needs this, too!
Remember, the key to exercise is not about losing weight. Instead, it’s about creating blood flow in your body. The more blood flow you have circulating through your body, the more likely this will result in a happy and healthy you. PLUS, exercising releases the “happy hormones” that are produced in your body, also called “endorphins.”
Think about being fit and fabulous because you feel stronger after doing something good for your trillions of cells. Then think about howresearchers validate what we already know. Yep. It’s true.
Webmd.com states that regular exercise has been proven to:
- Reduce stress
- Ward off anxiety and feelings of depression
- Boost self-esteem
- Improve sleep
Exercise also has these added health benefits:
- It strengthens your heart.
- It increases energy levels.
- It lowers blood pressure.
- It improves muscle tone and strength.
- It strengthens and builds bones.
- It helps reduce body fat.
- It makes you look fit and healthy.
Aim to exercise 3 times a week for at least 15 minutes if you aren’t already. Earn yourself a gold star. If you can do more, awesome! Two stars for you!
Let’s move our bodies, not just for the physical benefits, but for the emotional ones too. Exercise is my daily dose of “feel good” medicine. There are so many people who say, “I don’t need therapy, I just need to move my body.” I agree with this, how about you?
